Steve was born October 23, 1951 in Sheboygan to Rodney and Edna (Glanert) Martin. He was a graduate of Sheboygan South High School, Class of 1970.
For a number of years Steve worked at VanderVaart Brick before beginning employment at the Kohler Co., retiring in 1995.
He was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and volunteered at the food pantry. He was actively involved in many Bible study groups and the Sunday school program.
Steve was very committed to the Partners for Literacy Program in Sheboygan at Trinity Lutheran School and for the last few years was a classroom volunteer at Jefferson Grade School.
He is survived by his daughters, Stacy Martin (fiancé, Dan DeBeck) of Green Bay, Samantha (Neil) Wolf of Sheboygan; his brother, Mark (Cyndi) Martin; his special cousin, Sherry (Jim) Bath; his nephews, Dan (Toni) Martin and James (Amanda) Martin all of Bloomington-Normal, IL; numerous cousins, friends and other loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A Celebration of Steve’s life will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Rev. Brett Matz, Pastor, will be the officiant. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all their care and support during this time. They would also like to thank Dr. Max Haid and his staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic for all the care they have provided for Steve these last few months.
