Richard was born August 21, 1937 in Greenville, Pennsylvania to Adrian and Thelma (Billig) Nagle.
He attended public grade schools and was a graduate of Grove City High School in Pennsylvania, Class of 1955. Richard earned his Bachelors Degree in Education at Calvin College in Grand Rapids Michigan and also attended USC in California.
On June 13, 1963 he was united in marriage to Kathryn Mulder in Iowa.
Richard was employed as an instructor at Lakeshore Technical College until his retirement in 1999. He was also a teacher/principal of various Christian Day Schools.
In addition to his wife, Kathryn, Richard is survived by five children, Patrick (Joan) Nagle, Tom (Gina) Nagle, Corey Nagle, Cara (Joe) Roczniak, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Jeffrey Nagle of Ashburn, Virginia; four grandchildren, Christopher, Simon, Grace, and Henry; two brothers, Adrian (Maria) Nagle III and Dale (Nancy) Nagle; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Grace Presbyterian Church. Rev. Brian DeJong will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens at a later date.
A memorial fund has been established in Richard’s name for St. Nicholas Hospital Home, Health, and Hospice.
Richard’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers of St. Nicholas Hospice, Sharon S. Richardson, Dr. Sokhi and Dr. Bettag for the care and compassion shown to him.
