Hilda was born March 15, 1926 to Christ and Amelia (Weber) Ruppel in Cleveland, WI.
She was a lifelong resident of the Sheboygan area, having attended Red Arrow School in Cleveland and graduating from Central High School, Class of 1943.
On August 23, 1945 Hilda and Raphael Schneider were united in marriage. Together they started Schneider Truck and Trailer Service in Sheboygan. They worked side by side, Hilda taking care of the clerical work, and together they ran a successful business for 26 years. She enjoyed being with her family, especially taking care of her special daughter, Debbie. Hilda and Raphael enjoyed their retirement together, visiting their grandchildren, playing cards and bingo, and traveling worldwide. They were well-known for their stained-glass creations and enjoyed making crafts and jewelry.
They were devout members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, they could always be found Saturday evenings in pew 7 on the right side.
She is survived by her three daughters, Eileen (Richard) Kreutz of Verona, WI, Cindy (Bruce) Becker of Sheboygan and Deborah Schneider of Rocky Knoll in Plymouth; six grandchildren, David (Angela) DiBona of Ann Arbor, MI, Stephen (Jenny) DiBona of Sheboygan, Jennifer (Scott) Krantz of Verona, Brian (Jennifer) Kreutz of Madison, Kari (Jason) Meyer of Sherwood, and Jon (Trisha) Reiss of Sheboygan; 13 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Derek and Joseph DiBona, Michael, Kaylee and Kyle Krantz, Anna and Brandon Kreutz, Kobi Grace Meyer, Gavin, Sophie and Cole Reiss; and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Hilda was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda DiBona in 2005; a sister; six brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Hilda’s wishes, a private family service will be held. Entombment will take place in Garden Terrace Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Hilda’s name for Bethlehem Lutheran Church on 12th and Georgia.
