Vonnie Joan Terry

Jo Terry was born February 18, 1932, near Macomb, Oklahoma to her father, James Leslie Bray, and her mother, Nellie Janette (Hayes) Bray.

Jo passed peacefully and painlessly into the arms of her awaiting Savior, August 12, 2024 at Advent Health Inpatient Hospice, Altamonte Springs, Fl.

Her daughter, Leslie, was with Jo as she entered into Joy.

Jo married Eugene R. Terry in 1960 and lived in Shawnee until 2014, at which time they moved to Florida to be with their daughter.

Jo and Gene had two daughters and one son; Vicki Sweatt, who passed in 1999, Leslie Aziz of Orlando, Fl, and John Terry (Sharon-wife) of Shawnee.

Jo’s grandchildren and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren are as follows:

Grandchildren:

Vicki’s twins are Jessica Permetter and Jenny Permetter, granddaughters of Jo.

Leslie’s children are Jonathan Tillman and Emma Aziz, grandson and granddaughter of Jo.

John’s children are Seth Terry (Paige-wife) and Sam Terry, grandsons of Jo.

Great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren are as follows:

Great Grandchildren: Nikkia Keyes, (great-great grandson, Joshua Alfaro) Victoria Pleets, Daren Pleets, Dean Terry and Lincoln Terry, and baby still in the womb Aziz.

Jo was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Shawnee, Oklahoma, and faithfully attended Mosaic Church, Winter Garden, Florida.

Jo was married to Gene for Fifty-Five years until Gene passed in 2015.

She was a homemaker and devoted herself to raising her children.

Vonnie Joan was the youngest of two sisters, Vivian Bray King and Vera Bray Parker, who have preceded Jo in death.

Jo is also survived by her sisters’ children, Wayne King of California and Janet Carter of Texas.
