Thomas Joseph Winters Jr. passed from this life on Friday, January 21, 2022. Thomas was born August 22, 1926 in Stringtown, OK to Thomas Sr. and Dora Mae (Terry) Winters. He had a Master’s degree in education.
Thomas was in the army during World War II and Korea. During his time in the military he was awarded two service medals and earned a Bronze Star.
He then married Lois Withrow on August 20, 1953 and they had two children together.
Thomas was a longtime educator. He was a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Sr. and Dora Mae (Terry) Winters; wife, Lois (Withrow) Winters; son, Joey Winters; and sister, Mary Lou Vegher.
He is survived by his son, Bill (Vickie) Winters; grandchildren, Sarah (April) Winters, Shelby (Adam) Holman, and Kellie (Kris) Steele; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Steele, Madison Steele, and Karmyn Winters; sisters, Ruth (Roger) Epperly, and Ina Suydam; and brother Eddie Mark (Judy) Winters.
