Richard Stevenson

Richard Allen Stevenson age 65 years passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Norman Oklahoma Veterans Center. Richard was born December 31, 1950 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Gus and Thelma Stevenson, the middle child of 3 siblings.

Richard attended Shawnee Schools where he met and married the love of his life Regina. Soon after their marriage he was drafted into the Army where he would serve in Vietnam from 1970-1971 and discharged with an honorable discharge. Richard retired from ODOT in 2008. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Stevenson of Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jenifer Stevenson; daughter and son-in-law, LaDawn and Johnny Abney; grandchildren: Cody, Cierra, Parker, Gage Stevenson, Mike and Chasity Germann, Brylee and Brittany Wheelwright, Beau Etchieson, Devin and Sara Abney, and Drew Abney; great grandchildren: Chaysten Germann, Aidyn Breeding, Caiden Moore, and Hadley Abney; one brother, Steve Stevenson and wife, Janie; one sister, Pat James; and several nieces, nephews and one beloved aunt, Nan Stevenson.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2016 with Mike Craig officiating.
