Norma Jean Cowan went to the loving arms of her Savior May 25. Norma was born to Paul and Vera Cowan May 31, 1935. A graduate of O.B.U., she proudly served in the armed forces, taught school in New Mexico, and was a case worker for the Department of Human Services. Norma was an avid O.U. football fan, and she enjoyed gifting family members with her various crafts projects. She was a long time resident of Shawnee and a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church. At the time of her death, Norma resided at the Veterans Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Karen Cowan, an uncle, Clarence Hale, nephews, a niece, and numerous cousins. A funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.
