Mary attended Pearl River Indian School in Mississippi and graduated from Chilocco Indian School in 1960. She moved to Denver to complete Dental Assistant School and worked for Indian Health Services for 36 years as a dental assistant. Mary served in different ministries at First Indian Baptist Church including the church treasury, nursery and mission groups. She traveled to different countries and within the United States with the Native Praise Choir. She enjoyed travelling with her husband, Turner all over the United States going camping and watching their kids and grandkids playing ball.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Ivenia Bell and sisters: Judy Rae Billie and Annie Ryan Billy.
Mary is survived by her husband of 52 years, Turner Silmon; children: LaHoma Roberts (Donyell) and Mark Silmon; grandchildren: Danielle, Kritter, Misty McGirt, Dakota and Zachary Silmon; great grandchildren: Aurelius, Iunicius, Kenacius, Leonidas, Tiana, and Briseis McGirt; brothers: Frank Bell Jr. and Harlon Bell; sisters: Melba Smith (Roger) and Rose Cutler; and many nieces, nephews and family.
A wake will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at First Indian Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at First Indian Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
