Layla Pearl Raynor

Layla Pearl Wafford Raynor passed away, Thursday June 20, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and dependability. Layla was the only child of Gary & Rhonda Wafford, born September 13, 1972 in Chickasha, OK on a warm Wednesday morning.

She started kindergarten in Mustang and graduated in 1991 from Mustang, OK High School, participating in sports, school activities and enjoying her friends. Right out of high school, Layla started her working career. Most notably she worked her way up the ranks to GM over 3 Waffle Houses, she won the Golden Pickle Award for most personable to employees & customers from the Sonic Corporation. She climbed the ladder to GM at Taco Mayo and won the award for Sales Growth 2019 – 2022. During her working career she endeavored to keep up with current computer programs along with people and management skills. Due to health conditions she had to retire last year.

Layla always felt that Mustang was home and looked forward to moving back someday. She had a zest for life and her friends. Layla made friends easily and passionately cared for and about them.

Layla is survived by her parents, Rhonda & Gary. Robert of the home. Her children, Skye Ashleigh, Cryssalinn Dawn, Cortnee Gale, Lane, Michael James, Troy Anthony, Tatyana and Tifani Hannah. Also, 9 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family was everything to Layla. Her home was filled with laughter, love, delicious smells of cooking (including new and traditional family recipes). She loved playing games as a family, decorating for the holidays and gardening inside and out. Layla worked tirelessly to provide for her children, her most precious blessings.

Layla will be greeted in the hereafter by her grandparents, Kenneth & Katherine McCabe and Orvil & Helen Wafford who loved her dearly. Layla will be laid to rest at the Erin Springs cemetery with her great grandparents, Pearl & Walter Wafford, Great Aunt Dorothy Isabelle Bunch and her great great grandmother Mary Isabella Grant.

A funeral service for Layla will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sharon Baptist Church, 19002 S Gordon Cooper Dr, Shawnee, OK 74801. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 1:30 PM at Erin Springs Cemetery, Erin Springs, OK 73052.
