

Gary was born on August 23rd, 1949 in Shawnee, OK. He attended Dale Public Schools and graduated in 1967 before joining the Air Force, where he served until his honorable discharge in 1972. He returned to Shawnee and ultimately joined the United States Postal Service, where he would work as a letter carrier until his retirement in 2004. Later, Gary gained employment with the Citizen Potawatomi Nation at the Firelake Casino, where he worked security.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Hampton, and siblings Carla Lattimore, Robert Henke, Susan Henke, and Carl Henke, Jr., as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and some loud women from Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife, Melody Hampton, and two stepdaughters, Christina “Nina” Corso and Melissa Laughlin, their respective spouses, Mike Corso and Sean Laughlin, and grandchildren Ryan & Logan Corso and Xadonia & Marek Laughlin.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Jenny Dilbeck, her husband, Jeff, and children Emma Kuhn, Maxwell, Campbell, Landry and Jones Dilbeck.
And by his son, Adam Hampton, with daughter-in-law Angelina, and their children, Ford and Scout.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Darrell Hampton and Charles Henke, his beloved mother, Pauline Henke, his stepfather, Carl Henke, and his dad, Leo Hampton.
