Shawnee resident, Dwight Dee Clark, 57, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 4, 1958 in Odessa, Texas to Orval and Jean (Burdine) Clark. He grew up in Shawnee and attended South Rock Creek. Most of his adult life he lived at Sugar Mountain in Welling, Oklahoma. Dwight was a gentle giant who loved to laugh, make others laugh, tell stories, and go to Wal-Mart. He may not have had much, but he would have given anything he had to anyone in need. He was greatly loved by his family and will be dearly missed.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents; cousins, Robert Butler and Norman Pierce.
Those left to cherish their memories are his twin brother, Dwayne Clark and wife Janice; sister, Kim Thorpe and husband Ty; nieces and nephews, Shane Jackson, Justin Jackson, Kristin Smith, Ryan Clark, and Laura Gasbarrini.
The family would like to thank the staff of Colonial Estates Nursing Home as well as the staff of Loving Care H ospice for their kindness and compassion.
Visitation will be 8a-8p Thursday, October 8 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 10am Friday, October 9 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Pastor David Shaw officiating.
