Donald Lee Wright, 74, of Shawnee passed away May 2, 2017. He was born August 8, 1942 in Friedens, Pennsylvania, the fourth son of John Henry and Leona Mae (Shaulis) Wright. He came to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to school at Milwaukee School of Engineering, receiving his Electrical Technician Degree. While in school he started working for Allen-Bradley Co., when the company moved its Ferrite Division to Shawnee, Oklahoma, Don made the move also. He stayed with the company when it became TDK and retired after a 40 year career.
Don was involved in the Shawnee Industrial Softball League, several bowling leagues and the Shawnee-Nikaho Sister City Program. He designed and erected the summer house in the Garden of Peace.
After retirement, Don and wife Karen enjoyed making maple syrup at their cabin in Wisconsin. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, parents and three brothers.
Surviving him are his wife of 53 years, Karen; sons: Douglas Wright, Victor (Maria) Wright and Wayne (Jodi) Keys; daughter, Karla (Lance) Carter; grandchildren: Jonathan (Jessica) Wright, Benjamin (Nichole) Wright, Shania and Mariah Carter, John Dinwiddie and Katherine Butler, Paul Ray Wright and Kasey Keys; great grandchildren; Adriana and Leigha Wright, Braid and Krew Butler and Randal O’Neal; one brother, Earl (Gloria) Wright; sister, Norene (Ben) Suchocki; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Bender and many nephews and nieces
