Daniel "Grumpy Grandpa" George Beck

After graduating High School, Daniel joined the Air Force for several years. He then worked for Oklahoma Gas & Electric and retired as a Meter Tech. Daniel enjoyed OU football and basketball, bowling, and softball. Daniel was part of the local Masonic Lodge and attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

Daniel married the love of his life, Elsie Nadine Young, on October 6, 1948 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. They went on to have four children Nancy, Michael, Tim, and Scott.

Daniel was preceded in death by his wife Elsie Nadine (Young) Beck, and parents Earnest A. Beck and Mary (Stonebreaker) Kisor. Daniel is survived by daughter Nancy Bryce and husband Allen of Shawnee, Oklahoma; son Michael Beck of Shawnee, Oklahoma; son Tim Beck and wife Tyla Beach of Shawnee, Oklahoma; son Scott Beck of Shawnee, Oklahoma; grandchildren Shawn Bryce, Josh Bryce, Kellyn Bryce Gregory, Eric Brunk, Tiffini Beach, Taylor Beach Sanders, Katrina Smart, Kristan Smart Gamble, and Kelsey Beck; 16 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A public viewing for Mr. Beck will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 HWY 3, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 44909 HWY 3, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801.
