Beloved husband and father, Bob Hill, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Mercy Hospital, after prolonged, chronic illnesses. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Ewell E. Hill and Ada Sarah Shockley Hill, brothers Donald G. Hill and Ewell E.Hill, Jr., and sister, Barbara (Charles) Jones. Bob was born Nov. 6, 1932, in Seminole, Okla., where he was raised and lived with his family in an oil camp. He attended and graduated from Pleasant Grove School, near Seminole, and was recognized for his athletic abilities in baseball and basketball, as well as his leadership abilities. He was honored by being selected as a representative to Boy’s State, as Class President, and as Outstanding Senior Boy. Bob married his childhood sweetheart, Claudia M. Duvall, celebrating 66 years of marriage this past November. Throughout his extraordinary life, the family moved often, as Bob worked his way up the ladder with BJ Services, for 35 years, from being a “roustabout” to Vice President. In retirement, he worked for Vulcan Materials for 5 years, and was also a consultant, where he traveled the world, much as he had with BJ Services, and with his family. Bob was a man of strong belief and faith, receiving Christ as a young adult. It was this faith, and his family, that sustained him through decades of multiple health crisis and surgeries. Bob is survived by his wife, Claudia M. Hill; daughters: Deborah Murphy, Kathryn (John ) Jones, and Cynthia (Don) Langston; grandchildren: Jennifer (Aaron) Holum, Alexander Pendley, Tiffeani (Chris) James, Daniel C. Murphy III, Cassie Langston, Kathryn (Jarod) LaBarge; great grandchildren: Emma James, Elizabeth James, Xander Pendley, Hannah Holum, Tyler Holum; brother in law: J.P. Duvall of Seminole, Okla., and sister in law: Lucille Hill of the Okla. City, Okla. metro area; beloved nieces and nephews: Jimmy (Katie) Harris, Betty (Nick) Nelson, Wayne (Susan) Harris, Bobby (Christy) Harris, Kenneth (Beverly) McDaniel, Lee (Brenda) Hill, Jeannie Walker, Laurie (Mark) Jester, Julie (Mark) McGuffee, Gina (Kevin) Beam, Peggy (Gary) Guest, Gayla Duvall, Johnny Duvall, Nancy (Steve) Quinalty, Diana (Steve) Simpson, Steve Hill, Mike Hill, and Terry ( Maryam) Hill. The family would also like to thank Dr. Fixley and his staff, and Dr.Cravens and her staff, of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, for their extraordinary care and kindness. Bob’s caregivers: Anne Muchwe, Casey Branscum, Donna Fulton, and Kim Hill, along with his home health nurse, Sarah Akers, are also greatly appreciated for their exceptional care and kindness. There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at John and Kathy Jones, his daughter’s home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bob to the Alzheimer’s Association. Private, family graveside services will occur at a later date.
