Bobbie Jean Snider

She attended and graduated from Shawnee High School. On April 30, 1957 she met and married the true love of her life, Grady Max Snider. They spent 54 years together before his passing. Bobbie was very proud of her 23 years spent as a teacher’s aide in the Shawnee Public School System. She was also presented with the Teacher’s Aide of the Year award.

Besides working, she also enjoyed gardening, bowling, game shows, and fishing with family at Lake Tenkiller. Her sons each had a favorite homemade specialty that only she could make. John’s was her famous raisin pie, while Scott’s was her meatloaf. Though her most precious time spent, was the time spent with her family, Bobbie also faithfully attended the Rock Creek Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Max Snider; her sister, Bonnie Gillaspie; and brothers, James Stone and Jerry Stone.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Johnny and wife Sophia Snider, and Scott Snider; sister, Betty and husband Darwin Adams; sister, Barbara and husband Weldon Cantrell; sister, Billie Steele; grandchildren: Kirstal Hollingsworth, Johnna Matthews, and Sean Snider; great-grandchildren: Alexis Hollingsworth, Mason Matthews, Kayla Matthews, Molly Snider, Sam Snider, and Jack Snider.

There will be a visitation for Bobbie on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with a committal following at 11:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801.
