Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He attended Shawnee High School and after graduation joined the United States Air Force. Proudly serving his country for 14 years, Bill was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal. After leaving the United State Air Force, he went on to own a mechanic shop and work for the United States Postal Service where he was honored for 29 years of service. His hobbies included fishing, fishing, and more fishing. Bill’s happy place was being on the lake fishing. He loved his family, the Lord, going to church, his peach trees and gardening. Music was a life-long passion and he was quite the artist. He painted lots of pictures, loved to play his guitar and sing, and enjoyed playing several instruments and writing songs.
Bill and Charlene were members of Sharon Baptist Church. During their 26 years of marriage, they were able to visit 49 of the states.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 26 years, Charlene Davis Partain; children: Pamela Benmore and husband Ross, Billy Partain Jr. and wife Tammy, Kitty Summers, Steven Partain, Step-daughter Angie Robbins and husband Jerry and Step-son Kendall Hall and wife La Rhonda; brother Joe Bob Partain and wife Cindy; sister Janice Riley,19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Knowledge and Zora Ellen Spencer Partain; sisters: Zoretta Schoonover and husband Clarence, Mary Price and husband Ray, and Lee Jean Edgar and husband John; brother Virgil Partain Jr. and wife Wanda; brother-in-law Kenneth Riley, and son-in-law Bobby Summers.
Pallbearers will be Billy Partain Jr., Steven Partain, Kendall Hall, Jerry Robbins, Chad Huskins, Justin Robbins.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:00 am, at Sharon Baptist Church,19002 South Gordon Cooper Drive, Shawnee, OK 74801. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
