Ruth Marie Slaughter

Ruth Marie was born in Sharonville Ohio at the historic Twelve Mile House in 1931. She is preceded in death by her parents Albert Carl Hines and Helen Elizabeth (Cox) Hines and her brother Robert Carl Hines.

She graduated from Sharonville High School in 1950. Upon graduation she was employed as a secretary with National Distillers until 1956. In 1955 Ruth married Russell William Slaughter of Elmwood Ohio. Their daughter, Nancy Lee Elizabeth arrived in 1957. Ruth persued a career in Real Estate from 1958 until 1962 when their son Michael William was born. Later she was employed by Pogue's fabric and draperies and at Lazarus.

Ruth and Russel have resided in West Chester Ohio since 1997 and previously in Norwood and Bond Hill. She was active in the Bond Hill play ground mothers club and a member of the Veterans Of Foreign War Ladies Auxiliary Post 7696 of West Chester.

Ruth is survived by daughter Nancy and Son in law Allen Woods. Granddaughters Sarah Elizabeth Woods of Rockwood Tennessee, Granddaughter, Ashley Marie Woods Buckner and husband Tim Buckner of Coalfield,Tennessee. Great grandsons Landon Alan and Mason Allen Buckner. Also son Michael and wife Rea Slaughter, grandchildren, Yanni and Adrian Dourakos and Bionca Rudy of Cincinnati Ohio and sister in law Barbara Young Hines

Visitation Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 AM with Funeral Services to follow at 1:00 PM at the Schmidt Dhonau Kucner Funeral Home 10980 Reading Rd Sharonville Ohio 45241. Donations are directed to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
