With all of the social media available, I am so saddened that I just received word of Sid's passing. Sid and I were fraternity brothers and roommates for three years at Miami. We had amazing times, especially when Sid would 'push the envelope' with his antics. He had me laughing till I cried more than anyone I have ever known.

We had reconnected by phone over the past couple years and I knew he was battling a lot of the challenges we all are as we get older. Even though we hadn't kept track of each other for a long time, it was amazing how we simply picked up where we left off. He was still Sid and I was still his 'little buddy'.

Underneath the amazing sense of humor, Sid was a great, loving, caring and sincere friend to all. He helped me survive the sometimes boring nature of Miami and I will always remember his hearty laugh.

You will be missed.

I met Al through Kathy. Al was always funny and in a good mood. We went on many trips including Winter Hiking trips (aka: Ice Hiking trips) to Hocking Hills  and trips to Smokey Mountains.  One time it was raining so I decided not to go hiking in the rain so I stayed back at the chalet.  We spent the afternoon watching "dog" movies.  He loved dogs as much as I did.  He was loved and I will miss him.

I had the pleasure of working with Al when he was employed at Indiana Glass. He had an awesome personality. We use to have some fun times. He would have me laughing all the time. He called me a couple of monthsago. I loved to hear him laugh. He will truly be missed! I lift his love one's up on prayer.

Sid,

Everyone called you Albert, to me you were always Sid. We grew up together, on occasion got in a little bit of trouble, and were best friends all our days. You were always there for me with good advice and kind words and encouragement. You laughed at my jokes and your laugh could be heard for miles. We had some great times in the Adirondacks camping, Lake George, Miami of Ohio, and University of Miami. Just a couple of months ago you and I talked about the most mature decision we ever made. We were both accepted at Miami of Ohio, and at 17 years old we decided it would be in our best interests to attend different colleges, because if we both went to Miami of Ohio we might just have too much fun.  Sid I will miss you more than you can imagine.

We live in the same building in Kentucky as his friend, Kathy.  We knew Al in good times and later when his health began to fail.  He was very personable and quite friendly.  We extend our condolences to his Mother and family.  He will be missed.  Carol and John

Al used to say the most outrageous things to me (all in fun). I would answer back and he would laugh. What a character. I will never forget his laugh. There are very fond memories of the appetizers and meals he would prepare for Kathy and me while we were out on the golf course on a Sunday afternoon. And the shorts, he wore shorts all the time even on a winter hike. It was hilarious watching him slide down a snow covered hill wearing shorts and athletic shoes. The rest of us were in hiking boots and ski pants. And the short cake incident. Many good memories! My deepest sympathy to his family. Keep his laugh in your hearts, it will always make you smile.

I will always remember Al as kind, funny and fun-loving. When my son had knee surgery and was in a wheel chair, Al picked him up from school every day until my son was on crutches and could ride the bus. My son enjoyed all the guy talk with Al and it helped me out immensely. My heart felt condolences to his family.
