Wanda was born June 28, 1942 in Maysville, Kentucky, daughter of Reverend Leslie Rogers and Elsie Dwyer Rogers. She was raised a preacher's daughter and said she would never marry one until she met the love of her life Reverend David Guy. Together they served the Lord with their family and moved to North Carolina in 1980 where he began chaplaincy. They made their home in Supply 26 years ago and she became a member of Camp Methodist Church before moving to Concord United Methodist Church. Wanda retired from First Baptist Church of Shallotte after being the church secretary for 20 years. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano and shopping. Her family said she always knew where the closest shopping mall was located. Her smile was warm and infectious and would light up a room. She was welcoming and loving to everyone she met. Preceding her in death was a sister, Mildred Nipp.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Reverend David Anthony Guy of Supply; three daughters, Robin Boiter and husband Richard of Augusta, Georgia, Patricia Reid of Supply, and Elizabeth Shreves of Supply; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Troy Hollingsworth and wife Ana, Eva Hollingsworth Nicho and husband Patrick, Amber Leigh Guy, Brittany Nicole Reid, Leeanne Marie Shreves, Sean Anthony Shreves, and Raelyn Nicole Reid; nine great grandchildren, Aeriel, Caleb, Isaac, Arianna, Clara, Lily, Saphera, Michael, and Rylee; and one sister, Ruth Ellen Skaggs and husband Fred of Hazard, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 26, 2025 at eleven o'clock in the morning at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina with Reverend Michael Borton officiating. Burial will follow in Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
