Wanda Jean Duncan

NeNe was born March 7, 1949 in Lexington, North Carolina, daughter of the late Coy Jackson Fritts and Mae Elizabeth Smith Fritts. She was the most selfless person we ever had the pleasure of knowing who always put her children and grandchildren first. We were very blessed with the mark she left on all of her family and friends. She enjoyed fishing with her late husband Leon Laverne Duncan, Sr. as well as spending time in the shop with him. Her "youngins" and "grandyoungins" were her life. She loved spending extra time with her grandkids. Making friends came easily to her especially while working security and she never met a stranger. Her gift to her family was the knowledge she passed down through the generations. She was truly the glue to hold the family together. We love you NeNe...until next time, I Hope You Dance.

Survivors include her children, Leon Laverne Duncan, Jr. and wife Maria of Holden Beach and Shannon Duncan of Shallotte Point; eleven grandchildren, Haley, Lindsey, Brianna, John James, Mason, Elizabeth, Safria, Joseph, Nick, DJ, and April; three brothers, CJ Fritts and wife Crystal of Lexington, Johnny Fritts and wife Joyce of Lexington, and James Fritts of Lexington; three sisters, Linda Smith of Lexington, Teresa Payne and husband Calvin of Lexington, and Cathy Meachum and husband Robbie of Lexington; her dear friend, Ginny; and many other special friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at three o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina.
