Jane was born in Brunswick County on the twenty first of February 1938 to the late Newman Martin and Etta Phillips Mintz. She was a longtime member of Trinity Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church now known as Lighthouse of Prayer Church, 2831 Big Neck Road, Ash, NC 28420. She and her family was instrumental in building this church many years ago and she has remained a very devout Christian. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Benjamin Owen “Bennie” King, Marlin Dale Smith, Jr.; sisters, Earline “Pet” Bellamy, Betty Bellamy, Christine Hewett; Carlene Piver; brothers, Martin Mintz, Lindsey Mintz and Buddy Mintz.
Surviving are her husband of forty eight years, Dale Smith; a son, Jerry King and wife Jeannie of Ash; sisters, Mary Mintz, Naomi Peschau both of Ash, Barbara King and husband Billy Wayne of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Coley King and Kyla Trainor and husband Ryan.
Funeral services will be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday the twenty first of August 2018 in the Lighthouse of Prayer Church, Ash, NC with Pastor Donna Webb and Reverend William Chappell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.
