Muletrain was born February 25, 1946 in Brunswick County, son of the late RB Hewett and Bithy Bright Hewett. He worked on the dredge boat until retirement. Muletrain was also known as a carpenter and logger. He enjoyed saltwater and freshwater fishing and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer LaDane Hewett in 1977 and sister Minnie Elneda "Porky" Holden in 2019.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Smith Hewett; children, Milton Clark Hewett, Jr, Phillip Edward Hewett, and Heather Hewett Lyle and husband Anthony; four grandsons, Richard Hewett, Raleigh Hewett, Scott Hewett, and Bradley Moody; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Hewett; two great grandchildren, Asher Hewett, Bjorn Moody; sister, Delilah Hewett Smith; and brother, Brion Linwood Hewett.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 9, 2023 at eleven o'clock in the morning at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte with Reverend Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the RB Hewett Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from five o'clock in the evening until seven o'clock in the evening at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte.
