Joe was born on January 3, 1957, in Massachusetts, the son of the late Joseph Leo Carson and Grace Ann DeSantis-Carson. He was the loving husband of Kathryn Welte. Joe was a retired salesman and food truck owner, an avid golfer, and a passionate world traveler. He loved adventure, all things food, and was always up-to-date on Boston sports. Joe never met a stranger and made lasting connections wherever he went. Above all, he cherished being surrounded by his family.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Welte, of Shallotte; his son, Max Carson, of Poughkeepsie, New York; his daughter, Paige Carson, of Los Angeles, California; stepchildren Joshua Welte of Fort Myers, Florida, and Abby Welte of Manhattan, New York; and two sisters, Christine Carson-Bugden of Massachusetts and Jane Carson of Reno, Nevada.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
