James Monroe Gore

Jimmy was born August 20, 1953 in Columbus County, son of the late Jessie Clyde Gore and Rachel Miller Gore. He was a commercial fisherman who also worked with Great Lakes Dredge and Dock until his retirement in 2018. He loved being on the water and anything nautical. HIs large sense of humor made many friends. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, cooking, and listening to music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Randall Gore.

Survivors include his children, Anna Batchelor and husband Luke of Charleston, South Carolina, Alicia Holshouser and husband Todd of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Jessi Leigh Gore and partner Donte of Wilmington, North Carolina; sisters, Cynthia Gore Williams of Shallotte, North Carolina and Beth Gore Adams of Salisbury, North Carolina; two grandchildren; and a very dear friend, Daralyn Spivey of Boiling Spring Lakes, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at eleven o'clock in the morning at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina. The family asks that everyone in attendance dress casual as that is what Jimmy would have wanted.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
