Joyce was born July 4, 1930 in Columbus County, daughter of the late John Craven Ward and Mary Beatrice Jenrette Ward. She was very quiet and enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. Joyce loved sitting in her swing watching the folks pass by. She enjoyed eating at Southern Table in Nakina almost every day while her health allowed. Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy were her favorite shows to watch and rarely missed a show. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Robbins, daughter Vicki Robbins Brendle, two sisters, Dare Long and Rae Johnson, grandson Jordan Robbins, and granddaughters Katrina Boney and Jennifer Wood.
Survivors include her children, Aleta Ferguson and husband Gary of Boiling Spring Lakes, Keith Robbins and wife Barbara of Winnabow, Gary Robbins and wife Wanda of Winnabow, and Cheryl Robbins of Nakina; brother Colon Ward and wife Linda of Nakina; 15 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family.
Graveside services will be Friday, January 29, 2021 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Robbins Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from five o’clock until seven o’clock at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 2660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina 28470.
