Mr. Robinson was born in Columbus County on August 9, 1977 and was the son of Cathy Holden Robinson and the late Donald C. Robinson. He was a 1995 graduate of West Brunswick High School. Since childhood, David’s passion and desire was to be a fireman and work with EMS. He continued his emergency services education, completing numerous programs at BCC and other North Carolina colleges. David has also given back to the community by serving as an adjunct instructor at BCC for many years. He was a dedicated public servant in many ways. David was an active member of the Civietown Fire Department and longtime member and former Chief of Coastline Rescue Squad. He was also a Paramedic Firefighter for many years for the town of Oak Island as well as a dispatcher for Brunswick County EMS. He will always be remembered for the numerous lives he saved in Brunswick County and surrounding communities. In 2020, David was elected to serve on the Brunswick County Board of Education and was set to be re-elected this year. It was in this capacity David thrived. He had a great passion for the "anti-bullying" program and wanted to see that specific initiative succeed in all schools. He saw an opportunity to shape the county’s future by investing in its youth. He was committed to ensuring the county schools provided a solid foundation in which the students could make their dreams and goals a reality. David always kept open communication with anyone who had a question or need. This is one of the characteristics that made him such a dedicated community servant. In his spare time he loved to cook and enjoyed serving his dishes to his friends and family, especially when he tried new recipes. He also spent many days antiquing and thrifting to find many discarded treasures that he would share with his friends. His unwavering commitment to his family and community will be greatly missed.
David is survived by his mother, whom he cared for her every need, Cathy Holden Robinson of the home; brother, Donald Robinson of Shallotte; two nephews, Matthew Robinson and Jason Robinson of Shallotte and his canine nephew, Schenitzel.
