Deepest Condolences for my Aunt Theresa, John P McMahon III 
So sorry for your loss, Patricia and family.  This is Johnnie your cousin, My parents were John P and Maria last living in Southington/Bristol Ct. 
My Mom died in 2008.  Dad died in 1985. He was a deacon at St Thomas in Southington CT.

     Mom was always an amazingly talented and creative person. Most people remember her as a fantastic dancer and a skillful artist.  Long before she took up the paint brush and pallet knife, she excelled as a cook and baker, as well as a first rate seamstress and a musician.
     I have never tasted anything so good as moms' baked beans, that she made from scratch in the oven every Saturday and served with steamed brown bread and hot dogs, unless it was the salmon and mashed potato pie that I still dream of. Then there was the very special "creton" that we all loved so much.  Mom was always creating something wonderful, from her homemade bread to her rhubarb pie, her canned peaches or pickle relish. You always knew that when you came home from school, there would be something good on the table.  She always made sure that we had a good lunch to take to school.  My favorite was when she would put hot soup in my thermos and have a hot dog tied on a string down in it.  All I had to do was pull out the dog, and put it in the bun to get a hot lunch while all the kids in my class were eating cold bologna or peanut butter.  Sometimes mom would let me help her, like when she was making donuts or potato chips in the deep fryer.
     Mom was always sewing away on her old "Singer" machine, creating something special for someone to wear.  Every Halloween all us kids would get a really fantastic costume that she made for us.  I remember one year, she made us all these neat Indian costumes out of burlap.  Another year it was a red devil with long white horns and pointy tail.  Then there was the hobo costume complete with bow tie and dads old derby hat.  In a more practical application, mom would make dresses and gowns for herself and the girls, and whenever times were hard, she would spend hours bent over that machine making clothing to sell for extra money.
   Mom had an old upright piano and I remember her playing "ragtime" and "bill Bailey".  She had put thumb tacks on the hammers to get the sound that she wanted.
     She was always a very special lady. And yea, she could really dance.

The best indicator of a great person is listening to those who knew her well - from all that I have heard Theresa was as close to being a Saint as any human could possibly be. I first met her three years ago and thought fondly of her since that first meeting. She will be missed greatly.

Oh Theresa you little devil the fun, laughter and dancing we shared. Then there was the mentor Theresa, oh how much I learned from you about life.  Thank you mom and my friend.  You are missed.

So deeply sorry to hear of the loss of a dear friend and neighbor of 21 years.  She was such a wonderful lady and always had a smile on her face. Very active person with a big heart. She will be greatly missed!
