Service will be held to honor Paul’s life on Saturday, April 12, 2025, 10:30 A.M. at Indian Rocks Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving family; his wife of 33 years Julie, children Michael, Emily and Katherine, daughter-in-law Maggie, son-in-law Mark, granddaughter Claire, and brother Doug, as well as a large extended family.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother Helen, father Paul Senior, brother Michael and his first grandchild, Thomas.
Paul and Julie met in high school, and they shared 40 wonderful years together. They traveled the world, and also the country, in the RV that they loved. They often brought their family with them on their adventures. Paul and Julie shared hobbies, such as going to races like Le Mans, Sebring, and Daytona, just to mention a few. They both had a love of fast cars, and Paul always said he fell in love with Julie as a teenager when she was fixing up her first Mustang.
His family brought him great joy, and he spoke often of how proud he was of them. He made sure that his children received the best education all the way through their graduate degrees. He was a doting and caring father that never missed a track meet, cross country meet, piano recital, soccer game, wrestling match, and was always home for dinner with his family.
Paul practised law for 31 years, after graduating from Stetson College of Law. He started his career at Deloach & Hofstra, which eventually became Deloach, Hofstra, & Cavonis. Paul, along with his brother Doug (who is a general contractor) spearheaded the construction of the beautiful new building that houses the firm today. He was very proud of that, and did it with his children in mind as he hoped they’d join him at the firm. Two of his children did indeed follow in his footsteps, and went to work with him; the third has been accepted into law school and had hoped to do the same. His children simply wanted to work with their father, and his dream was to work with his children.
Paul mastered his craft, and practised law with the utmost integrity. He earned the respect of his peers, judges, and even adversaries. Paul was a natural born leader, and he was often the first person people would call when they needed help. He always gave excellent counsel, and was willing to give his time, talent, and resources.
He will be greatly missed by his entire family, his firm, and the community that he served so well.
