Mary was born on March 25, 1943 in South Portland, ME. She lived in South Portland graduating from South Portland High School in 1961. She went on to graduate from Gorham State Teacher’s College (UM) in 1965. She moved to Middleton, CT where she taught for 30 years. After graduating, she taught and worked in the States and Portland. She was an avid traveler living and traveling around Europe for thirteen years during her months off in the summer.
Mary lived her life with kindness, grace and compassion. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her endless stories and creative ideas. Wherever she was, things were happening and solved. She had a genuine interest in everyone she met.
She leaves a family grateful for the joy she brought to their lives. She leaves behind her husband, of 15 years, Robert “Bob” Roberge of St. Petersburg, FL and Windham, ME; sister, Dorothy (Thomas) Dyer; nephew, Thomas (Dorothy) Dyer; grandnephew, Zachary Dyer and grandniece, Emily Dyer; nephew, Scott (Diego Gouviea) Dyer; Step- daughter, Raelene (Timothy) Houck; step grandchildren, Cordelia Houck and Quin Houck; step daughter, Charlene Roberge (Donovan)Knight; step grandchildren, April (Derrick) Brashears, Jennifer Knight (John Sisk), Dustin (Cady) Knight and Patrick Knight; great Step grandchildren, Amber Brashears, Morgan Sisk, George Sisk, Addalyn Sisk, Clara Knight, Austin Knight and Sophia Knight. Mary will be buried in Forest City Cemetery, S. Portland, ME at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
