HOLBROOK, John M. Sr., 68, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018. He was a native of St. Petersburg, and a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications. He was a retired employee of the Tampa Bay Times, formerly known as St. Petersburg Times after serving over 37 years in the printing industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George M. Holbrook, Sr. and Sophia Holbrook and his brother, George M. Holbrook Jr. He is survived by his wife, Carol A. Holbrook; sons, John M. Holbrook Jr., Joseph S. (Kristi) Holbrook, and David A. (Erin) Holbrook; sister, Ruth M. (Robert) Brewster; and grandchildren, Scott and Grace Holbrook.
A visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Garden Sanctuary Cemetery.

A poem for my loving husband...
My dearest friends and family,
Please don't weep for me today
For I'm walking with God's Angels,
In the Heavens far away
God relieved me of my suffering,
He saw my body laced with pain
I heard a choir of Angels singing,
As the Lord called out my name
Uplifted by God's Angels,
I was brought to Heaven's shores
The Heavens are all so beautiful,
A site like none I've seen before
Friends and family came to greet me,
When I arrived at Heaven's gate
Surrounded by loving friends and family,
For some my arrival they long await
Keep memories of all the times we shared,
Locked deep within your hearts
I will watch you all from Heaven,
Until your time on earth departs
Then when your earthly time is over,
I too will greet you at the gate
For eternal life is granted,
By our loving God through faith.
