NEWMAN, Charles Everett was born April 28 1925 in Little Hocking, Ohio to Everett and Virginia Newman. He grew up in Belleview KY where his father was the Lockmaster at Dam 38.
He enlisted in the US Navy in 1942 and married the love of his life, Loretta Surface in 1944.
He started working for The Greenline Transit in 1946 which later became the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky. After he retired in 1988 after 42 years of service, Charles and Loretta moved to Florida. He worked for the Bardmoor Country Club for 9 years, volunteered at the Starkey Road Baptist Church where he was a member and became a Kentucky Colonel. When Loretta passed away in 2006, they were married for 62 years. He resided at Palm Garden of Largo from 2014 until his death. He was cared for and loved dearly there. They were preceded in death by their son, Timothy Wayne (1988).They are survived by their children; Charletta (Larry) Mink, Charles Jr; Ginny (Gene) Mullins and Tammi (Jerry) Busby; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
