It is with the heaviest heart we announce the passing of Carl “Burt” Burton Cormier, of Seminole, FL, after a short illness. Burt lived 90 beautiful years from October 2, 1934 up until his last breath, surrounded by family, on April 12, 2025.
Born in Brockton, MA to Charles and Eva (Comeau) Cormier, he was the youngest of five siblings and was affectionately referred to as “Sonny” growing up.
Burt truly lived life and loved to the fullest. There is an endless list of things that made Burt legendary in life. From serving in the Navy during the Korean war, to traveling the world for fun, to donating a bench to his local beach for people to sit and watch the sunsets together, to serving his community through his organization - Santa’s Angels - which provides Christmas presents and food to under privileged families, to lending his time and hands to help friends and family fix and build things, to simply serving a comforting homecooked dinner and fine wine to those he loved. Burt knew no stranger and made a positive impact everywhere he went. He greeted everyone with a warm, soft smile and ended every phone call with “talk to you soon, my friend.” He toasted every family gathering with, “to the family” and lived those three words tangibly. He filled us all with so much love and will be missed deeply as his legacy lives on.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, his first wife, Lucy Tuccio Cormier and all four siblings, C Harvey, Robert, Richard and Dorothy
Burt leaves behind his wife Kathryn Cormier, three children, Carol Ann Storgion, Leslie Cormier (Steven Zelenkofske), , and Scott Cormier (Kathleen Cormier), three step children, Richard Bonter, Leonard Bonter, and Jean Bonter, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he gave wings to fly and roots to grow in life
