Born in Cojutepeque, El Salvador to Maria Berfalia and Raul Castellanos.
Beloved husband of Jeanine Salazar; loving father of Andrew Castellanos, Stephanie Greey and her husband Joe, Diego Castellanos, and Geanine Castellanos; and dear brother of Antonia, Flor, Morena, Rosibel, and Celina.
He enlisted in the Salvadoran Army at 18 years of age to serve his country in the Civil War, and received his training in Fort Benning, GA. Shortly after, he was one of the few chosen to be part of the first group of helicopter pilots, and completed training in Fort Rucker, AL. He served as an air force pilot for the rest of his military career and achieved the rank of Captain.
After the Civil War came to an end, he joined the Airforce Reserves and started his civilian life by graduating from La Universidad Francisco Gavidia with a Law Degree. He chose to continue protecting his country and his people by starting a security company, PROESA, growing to a staff of 100 security guards.
In 2011, the family started a new adventure in New Jersey. Although he loved his country, he wanted to provide a better future for his family in the United States. Even with his limited English proficiency, he became a U.S. Citizen in 2016. With his entrepreneurial mind, he once again was able to manage and grow a business - Dona Antonia, a family restaurant in Union City, NJ.
His charisma was unmatched, always making others feel welcomed. He is remembered as kind, respectful, friendly, and humorous. He loved latin music, Salvadoran food, traveling, watching movies, and spending time with friends.
A mass of Christian burial for Wilbert will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus, NJ 07094.

Wilbert se enlistó en el Ejército salvadoreño a los 18 años de edad para servir a su país en la Guerra Civil y recibió su entrenamiento en Fort Benning, GA. Aun con su limitado inglés, se convirtió en ciudadano estadounidense en 2016. Con su mente empresarial, una vez más pudo administrar y hacer crecer un negocio: Dona Antonia, un restaurante familiar en Union City, NJ.
Su carisma era inigualable, siempre haciendo que los demás se sintieran bienvenidos. Se le recuerda como amable, respetuoso, amistoso y divertido. Le encantaba la música latina, la comida salvadoreña, viajar, ver películas y pasar tiempo con amigos.
