Lorraine Richter, 46, born July 31, 1973 passed away on January 1, 2020. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. Lorraine was a resident of Secaucus for 27 years, before moving to Howell, then Murrells Inlet, South Carolina for the past three years with her loving husband Eric. Lorraine was a teacher, secretary, and office manager. She was a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Born to George and Frances Solter, she grew up with 5 brothers and sisters and a houseful of cousins. She was married to Eric Richter for the past 14 years and leaves behind three beautiful children, Michael, Sarah, and Jake. She also leaves behind her sister Jean Jeffas, husband Gary, brother Ken Solter, wife Dawn, George Solter, wife Doreen, and sister in law Corinne Mulrenan, amongst many nieces and nephews. She was known for her contagious smile and brightening up the room with her laugh. She was an avid New York Rangers and New York Giants fan. She loved walking on the beach, spending time with family, and giving back to her community. Every night she would have a glass of wine swinging on her front porch watching the sunset, which was her favorite place when she was not with her children. Not a day went by where she did not reach out to her children, mother, and sister, who were the greatest blessings of her life. Her and her husband went through the greatest challenges, but their love was everlasting. The love between them was truly felt by others. There is no better way to explain it, but they were true soulmates. Although cut short, her life will be remembered as an amazing one through the great memories of her friends and family. She is now reunited in Heaven with her father, George, brothers Michael and David, and mother in law, Gail.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 8th from 4-8pm at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday January 9th at 9:30am at Immaculate Conception Church in Secaucus. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Stephen Siller Foundation in Lorraine’s name. https://tunnel2towers.org
