Doris Matulewicz, age 89, of Secaucus, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023 in her home. Doris was born in Greensboro N.C. to the late Bonnie Lorenzo Elkins Sr and Elizabeth Jackson (Harris) Elkins and lived there and other places including Jersey City for more than 40 years before settling here in Secaucus in 1999. She was a Shop Steward for the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU).
Doris is survived by her son Michael and his wife Beth and their daughters Grace and Peyton Matulewicz as well as her daughter in law, Lori; and grandchildren Rob and Crystal Matulewicz. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years Zygmunt and her son David.
Doris enjoyed beach vacations, playing bocce, spending time in NC with her extended family including her grand cats Knight and Dunkin and was a faithful viewer of Wheel of Fortune.
A visitation for Doris will be held Wednesday, January 11th from 4pm to 8pm at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ. A Funeral Home Service will occur Thursday, January 12th at 10:30am, followed by her burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
