Daniel Resin 79, of Wayne, formerly of Secaucus died on July 31, 2010. Born in South Bend, Indiana, Mr. Resin received a BS in Music and Theater from Indiana University. He married his school sweetheart, Margaret Gacke in 1954. He served in the Army at Fort Monmouth. He then made his home in Secaucus, NJ for 47 years where he was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Church. He appeared on the Broadway and off-Broadway stage including Once Upon a Mattress. His most famous role was that of Freddie Eynsford-Hill in My Fair Lady. He went on to a long and celebrated career in television commercials starring as the Ty-D-Bol man. Mr. Resin also appeared in many feature films including his most famous role as Dr. Beeper in Caddyshack.
Mr. Resin is survived by his wife, Margaret, daughters Elizabeth Olynick and husband Jeffrey, Alexandra Carnevale and husband John, and Maryanne Post and husband Fred. He also leaves grandchildren Thomas and Keith Dembia, Amanda and Natalie Olynick, and Frederick Daniel Post.
Mr. Resin is also survived by his brother Irvin Wrzesien and sisters Evelyn Majerski and Gloria Kovacs. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Wrzesien.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus. The family will gather at the funeral home with their relatives and friends at 9 AM on Wednesday August 4th for a 10 AM Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church. Cremation will be private.
