Carmela Sciancalepore

Carmela (Sasso) Sciancalepore, age 84, a lifelong resident of Secaucus, New Jersey passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025. Carmela was born to the late Daniel and Ursula (Pastore) Sasso in Jersey City, NJ. She was a Clerk for the Hudson County Personnel Department in Jersey City for many years.

Carmela was the loving wife of the late Sergio Sciancalepore, Cherished mother of Louis Sciancalepore and his wife Lori & Debra S. Petrone and her husband Marby, and the late Audra Ann Sciancalepore; Devoted grandmother of Samantha Marie Sciancalepore, Paul Louis Sciancalepore, Mercedes Rose Petrone, and Daniel Benito Petrone; Loving sister of the late Rose D'Agostino; Cherished Aunt of Ann Cervone & Bernice Griffo as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Carmela was very active and well known within the community of Secaucus. She volunteered for many events through the church as well as through the Senior Community. She had a deep love for music and was always singing and dancing at any event. Carmela was a very, strong woman who never complained even when times became more difficult these last few years. She always had a smile on her face and a happy story to share. Carmela was also a great friend who was willing to help anyone in need. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy as well as her children. Family, friends and her faith in God meant everything to her.

A visitation for Carmela will be held Tuesday, April 1st from 4 to 8PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Wednesday, April 2nd at 9:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 1219 Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus, NJ 07094 followed by her entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
