Anthony “Bocci” Catania, 79, of Brick NJ, formally of Jersey City, passed away on August 10, 2019. Pre-deceased by his parents Carmela & Rosario Catania. Loving husband of Nancy Paradiso Catania. He retired as an engineer after 44 years on the railroad. He was a member of the Brick Elks 2151 and Toms River American Legion 129 and St. Joseph’s Catholic Club of Union City.
He is survived by his sister Gloria Mueller, sister and brother-in-law Ann & John Oppici of Lakewood, and pre-deceased sisters Nancy Giambona, Mary DeMarco, Rose Fiorvanti and brother Carlo Catania. He leaves his children Mark, Michael, Tracey Neilan and pre-deceased son Rosario. He also leaves granddaughter, Tina and pre-deceased granddaughter Nicole. Three loving great grandchildren Dresdin, Kiana, Aiden and many nieces and nephews who loved “Uncle Bunky”. He touched the hearts of many people with his sense of humor and great love for his family. He will be truly missed.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday August 13th from 4-8 PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ. Funeral Mass will take place at Immaculate Conception Church 1219 Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus, NJ at 9:30 AM. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst, NJ immediately following mass.
