William Elliott Rucker

Tuesday, October 22nd our father William Elliott Rucker (Bill) of Sequim WA passed away peacefully, and his soul left this earth. Dad was born on January 12, 1938. He was 86 years old. Dad left behind his wife, Jean (Riegel) Rucker, of 50 years; and his children: Mike Rucker (Monica) of Everett WA, Lynda Hicks (Audey) of Lynden WA, Dan Rucker (Jennifer) of Magnolia TX, Dave Rucker (Sarah) of Lopez Island WA, Leah Swanberg (JD) of Custer WA, and Audrey Swanberg (Michelle) of Lopez Island WA. Dad will forever be remembered and cherished by his grandchildren: Brian Rucker (Julie) of Everett WA, Brandon Rucker of Kirkland WA, Courtney Hicks (Sheryl) of Lynden WA, Kaylee Hicks (Sterling) of San Jose Del Cabo Mexico, Andrew Hicks of Lynden WA, Owen Rucker of Magnolia TX, Ben Rucker of Magnolia TX, Josh Irvin of Marysville WA, Abby Rucker of Magnolia TX, Davis Doherty of Lopez Island WA, and Arlo Rucker of Lopez Island WA.

Dad enjoyed hunting since he was a little boy with his father and passed that love down to his sons. He also enjoyed many hours of golf in his lifetime, pretty much up until his passing. Dad also had a soft spot for his furry friends treating each and every one like the valuable family members they were. He liked to say with all their passing, “I will see you at the rainbow bridge! I Promise!” I do believe though that his greatest passion was that of husband, father and grandfather. He valued each member of his family and strived to have a special relationship with everyone! We are all going to miss the yearly birthday calls! We all love you, Dad! You will be greatly missed! We will forever treasure all the memories!
