William (Bill) Martin Buttenob, beloved husband, father and true friend to all he met, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6th, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends. Bill was born near his home town of Howard, South Dakota on January 26th, 1952 and as a young boy he and his family moved to Washington-which he would call home for nearly his whole life. He proudly served in the United States Navy as Radioman in the Vietnam War where he travelled for 3 years. After the Navy, Bill moved back home to Washington, where he met the love of his life, Sherill. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage, filled with laughter and love. Bill loved many things, and never stopped learning. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoorsman, golfer, and woodworker, and his sense of humor was second to none. In his final days he continued to make his family and friends laugh, while comforting us at the same time. He is survived by his wife: Sherill Buttenob; children: Lyndsay (Kelly) Campbell, Bret (Tara) Buttenob, and Jordin (Alana) Buttenob; siblings: Janice Franett, and Laurie (Gery) Nunnelee; grandchildren: Bianca Buttenob, Sofia Buttenob, Benson Buttenob, Jude Campbell, and Olivia Buttenob; and a large extended family and countless friends.
Bill’s service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. (405 N 117th St, Seattle, WA 98133), with a gathering to follow at Saltoro restaurant (14051 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133). In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Bill, the family requests for donations to be made to the ALS Association.
