They all moved here from North Dakota to Seattle, Washington while living in a large tent. Our mom's dad, brother and sons built their home from the ground up as they were all going to school at Holy Family. Are mother was a very kind, loving, gentle, caring person who would have given her shirt off her back for anyone she loved. She was the best mother you could ever have, and the most loving grandmother in the world. Not to mention, very funny. Besides Virgie, she had two other nicknames Auntie Cece, and Auntie feefee. Our mother had quite a few jobs from young adult to motherhood. First, Sweden Freeze, then Barton Bixer (curtain factory), Campbell's Food Wagons, The Ol Spudnut Shop (which our mom ran with her friend Jackie), Finally, Holland Dutch with her daughter Tammy, her sister baby, and her two nieces, Gail and Murphy. Her first spouse of 23 years, Lawrence H. Bommer whom she met while living across the street from him. As the story has been told, she took one look at him and fell in love right away. He is also the father of Robert Bommer and Tamera Flood. Second spouse, Gosta Nelson married september 24th for twelve years, before ending in divorce. Our mother loved playing bingo, and cards with her mother and sisters, and they also enjoyed shopping and going out for dinner quite often. She valued more than anything in this world her grandchildren, and she bragged of them often. She had three grandchildren Mitchel Bommer from her son, and Nicole Flood, and Joseph Flood from her daughter. Our mom loved the Mariners, she watched them all the time back in the day. Her favorite player was Ichiro. Our moms favorite food was ham and a side of ham. And yes she was a very good cook, she made dishes for others like German potato salad for her whole family. She will be remembered lovingly in everyones heart, and they will all have their own special funny moment with our mom to remember. Our mother had a long illness of COPD that proceeded in her death. She is survived by her children Robert L. Bommer, and Tammy S. Flood, and her brother Lee Doll and his wife Gail Doll , and her sister Kathleen Mendenhall. Also the many family members and friends that loved her so.She Passed away with her family by her side on April 28th 2011, in her home in Federal Way, We thank you all for being here today to share the memories of our mother, sister, and grandmother, Virginia Nelson.
