Valerie was born June 3, 1952 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, to Jeanette & Olaf Oien. The family moved to Oregon and finally settled in Seattle. Val married and moved to California where she started her family with the birth of her son, Richard. They moved back to Seattle shortly after Richards’s birth and divorced. Val dedicated all of her time to working and raising a boy on her own. Luckily 29 years ago she found her “second family” at Color Tech and 18 years ago she found a great partner in Larry Rossevelt. She truly enjoyed being a daughter and best friend to her mother, a strong parent to her son, a caring partner, a generous “Nana” to her two grandchildren and a great friend and co-worker. Val spent her time traveling around the state with Larry and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She would always attend their games and cheer them on! In her free time she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, collecting elephants and being with her loved ones. Valerie passed away in the comfort and presence of her family and leaves behind her mother Jeanette, partner Larry, son and daughter in-law Richard and Angelique, and grandchildren Trent & Garrett,

She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
