August 23, 1963 - October 24, 2015
Todd loved movies, major league baseball and in his younger days, cars. He was born the youngest in a family of 7 children to Richard Bloomer and Eleanor (Poitra) Bloomer. He grew up in Lake Forest Park, graduating from Shorecrest High School. After trying out different positions he joined the Family Business, Bloomer & Associates as a real estate appraiser where he stayed for 20 years, alongside his brothers Morgan, Michael, Lance and sister Leslie. When it became apparent our Dad was fighting his final cancer battle, Todd moved in with our parents to care for Dad. After Dad passed, he moved to Columbus, OH for a fresh start. Having discovered he had a natural ability with computers, he taught himself everything he could, which led to a successful term as an information technology specialist for the US Trotting Association in Columbus. He always took public transportation in Ohio, and in January, 2015 he moved to Chicago for both better employment opportunities and better public transportation. He spent his final months in Chicago, meeting new people and enjoying the City.
Todd began attending film festivals in Seattle in his teens and was passionate about movies the rest of his life. He was well read about history and politics and would have wide ranging discussions with family and friends.
Todd passed away unexpectedly and is deeply missed by his family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Dick and Eleanor, and survived by his siblings; Laureen (Glen Nemerow), Morgan, Cain, Lance (Lisa), Stephanie Bond (Michael), and Leslie (Patrick Hargraves), eight nephews and one niece.
