Tina Rene Kjensmo Hastings was born on June 21, 1959 to Rodger and Darleen Kjensmo. She grew up in the Kenmore area and attended Inglemoor High School, graduating in 1977. Tina loved to laugh and was always thinking of others. She played many roles in life. She was a dedicated worker whether it was in an office, a school classroom or in any of her many volunteer positions. One of her jobs working as a receptionist for an auto dealership had a special benefit. It was there that she met her husband, Lee Hastings. They began a wonderful life together that led to her favorite job of all – being a mom. Tina’s two daughters, Rebecca Villalobos-Meza (maiden name: Hastings) and Alicia Hastings were always trying to add more members to the family. They would often bring home stray cats or dogs. Tina passionately loved animals and she readily adopted many new additions.
Tina loved going on family vacations and seeing new things, although she often returned to her favorite destination. Disneyland was her favorite place on earth. She loved to watch her children’s faces light up with the magic and imagination found in the “magic kingdom”. Tina also had her sight on another kingdom. She loved Jesus and knew that one day, she would be moving to a heavenly kingdom – one free of sickness and pain. It was her desire to tell others about her relationship with her Lord and Savior. She loved helping at church. Over the years she taught many Sunday school classes, served on the leadership team, helped with youth group, and was always ready to help with any form of hospitality.
Tina was many things to many people. She held a special place in our hearts and will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind: her mother, Darleen; her loving husband, Lee; her daughters, Rebecca and Alicia; and her many other family members and friends.
