Suzette Russell Dalpez, 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at her Kirkland home on January 12, 2017. She was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. She was born February 17, 1948 in Boise, Idaho. Raised in Walla Walla, she spent the majority of her adult years in Western Washington. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Steven Dalpez; one daughter, Katrin and Jake Powell of Bothell; stepsons, Brian Dalpez of Kirkland, Burke and Jana Dalpez of Bothell; Grandchildren, Luke and Ryder Powell; step grandchildren, Camden, Rylan, and Kaelan Dalpez; brothers, Roger and Julia Russell of Walla Walla, Craig and Kristi Russell of Bothell and multiple nieces and nephews.
Suzette was employed as a buyer in retail merchandising for over 30 years. She worked for Frederick and Nelson, Lamonts, Bon Marche and Macy's. The last seven years of her career was working for Chateau Ste Michelle as a guest services representative. She learned the nuances of wine and loved being an ambassador for the winery.
Suzette's church is Washington Cathedral where she has been a 22 year member. She met her husband, Steve there and together they have served as TLC leaders, divorce recovery facilitators, and worship elders. Over the past 15 years, she volunteered at Seattle New Horizon Ministries where she helped feed the homeless youth.
Decorating her home every season/holiday brought joy to her. She loved spending time in the yard playing with the grandchildren. Traveling to Europe, Caribean, Mexico, Canada, Alaska and Hawaii were highlights for her.
Memorial services will be held at Washington Cathedral 12300 Woodinville-Redmond Rd NE, Redmond at 11am Saturday, January 21, 2017.
