Please know that we still miss you and appreciate your years of friendship.  You brought joy into the house whenever you came to see us and your generosity with your beautiful ocean properties gave us vacation joys we will always remember.  May you be in the folds of Mary's mantle now and celebrating eternity with her Son, Jesus.

If I were to pick one story that summed up Shirley to me it would be one that occurred in 1997.  It was my first year in real estate and I was riding in a car with her and her son, Karl.  We were out, driving around Burien, looking at homes that were recently listed for sale.

As we passed by a bakery, Shirley noted that they had key lime pies in and she exclaimed to us, “Oh, I have to remember to go back there later today and grab a key lime pie.  Mrs. Jones (or whatever the lady’s name was) just loves key lime pie.”

Karl asked his mother who the lady was.

Shirley replied, “She is the lady who let me sell her a house off of Maplewild Avenue about two years ago.  I’ll bring it over, we’ll each have a slice and watch the sun set from her deck.”

Karl and I looked at each other and kind of laughed as she finished the story but - it really stuck with me.   It was so spontaneous. There was no grand plan behind her action - no ulterior motive do do anything but make somebody happy. That's just who Shirley was - she cared so much about people.

Since the day in that car, I’ve aspired to be more like Shirley.  Not just Shirley the real estate broker but, Shirley the person.  She really was something special.


I met Shirley when she already was quite ill, but that did not obscure her sense of humor and her ever present queenliness.   I loved getting to know her and I was always surprised by what she could do, even in the many disadvantaged circumstances.

Shirley deeply loved her "children"  and she was fortunate to be surrounded by  them during her long illness.  

I will never forget Shirley and her wonderful laughter.   

New to the area 30 years ago, we were very fortunate to have Shirley as a real estate agent.  We will always remember her as an exceptionally kind, helpful and considerate person.  She was infinitely patient with us  and truly interested in us as a couple. She made a marvelous impression on us that is still vivid after all this time.  We are sad to hear of her passing. She was an exceptional person.

Karyn, Karyl, Karl and family- I am so sorry to hear of your moms passing.  Shirley was such an incredible  loving, caring, calming  and inspiring  lady! I loved growing up with you and the picnics  Shirley would take us to at Point Defiance.  She was such a blessing to many people.  I hope that with your beautiful memories you can smile through the tears especially on the hard days.

We're so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. She and Bill became our very good friends at Windward Passage Condominium. We shared lots of struggles while Bill and Judy were on the condo board. Shirley was always on hand with a supportive word and yummy goodies to take our minds off the issues. She will be missed.

My sincere condolences for the family. I worked with Shirley and Karyn as an appraiser over the years. Shirley had a keen sense of humor as did Karyn and was professional and well respected in the Community.  She will be missed. 

Shirley Boser, my caring friend whom I miss dearly. Eighteen years we visited sharing stories, opinions, learning recipes, great restaurants, sales and so much more… With every story, recipe, She knew just what to do or add to make the event or cookie taste that much more special. She was like that with all her endevours. She always added to anything and made things that much better. She could have ran a restaurant, any business…. and made it work that much better. I love that about her, adventurous & smart. 
Also, loved hearing her brag about the talents of her family. Knowing each of them is experiencing her very heart. Her family is without a doubt her prize & joy. They all have made this world a better place. Please accept my deepest condolences to each of you. 
Thank you Mrs Shirley Boser for having the sweetest family. Moreover, Thank You for treating me so kindly all those years; You’re a Mother to me. I know you’re a powerful Angel wearing a bright red jacket looking over us all. I Love & miss you so much. Heavenly hugs, Mrs. Shirley.
