SEATTLE, WA. Samuel Lee Wagoner passed away peacefully at The Terraces at Skyline on Saturday March 25, 2017. Lee was born on February 03, 1925 in Gold Hill, NC; the youngest son of Paul Henderson Wagoner and Katie Parker Wagoner. A graduate of “Pfeiffer College”, Lee joined the war effort and served in the US Army Company “C” 395th Infantry during WWII in Germany, He later served as a “MP” following V-Day where he met his wife Maria Carmen Mann in Bamberg. Lee returned from Germany and completed training in “Television Engineering” in Chicago February 1949. Lee and Carmen were married in Guatemala on April 23, 1949 and moved to Seattle in 1951 where they raised (3) children; Cynthia, Alex and Robert. Lee was a business owner for (28) year’s operating Central TV and Central Video, after retirement he sold real estate part time. He was a devoted husband to Maria Carmen for 35 wonderful years and was widowed in 1984. In 1988 He remarried to Agnus Constance Paulson for 23 years.
Lee loved life and life loved him back, always kind and pleasant to be around with a good sense of humor, quick to listen or lend a hand to those in need. He was a baptized and dedicated Lutheran and a member of Epiphany Lutheran church for over 45 years. He loved to be active in traveling, biking, hiking, fishing and playing tennis when he didn’t hurt himself playing.
Lee was preceded in death by His wife Maria Carmen, son Alex Wagoner, parents Paul and Katie, Brother Ray Wagoner, sister’s Mary Ruth Miller and Lillie Mae Hopkins and niece Shirley Eudy. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Costello, son Robert Wagoner, grandson’s Bryan Wagoner, Coleman Wagoner and Ian Costello. Also surviving is daughter in-law Marilyn Wagoner Funk, son in-law Greg Costello, his nephew Hans Mann (Lorena) in Guatemala. Nephews Ray Goodman (Diane), Glenn Hopkins (Vivian), Billy Hopkins (Wanda), Mark Hopkins (Bumper) and William Lee Wagoner (Natalie) and all the nephews’ children from North Carolina.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff and care givers of The Terraces who provided Lee with exceptional loving care during his 6 years as a resident at the community.
Services: A memorial service will be on April 09th at 1:00 PM at ACACIA Memorial Park & Funeral Home located at 14951 – Bothell Way NE, Seattle, WA. 98155.
Reverend Elizabeth Graham will officiate with an interment at the mausoleum and a reception following the services.
