Ruth Catherine Downey, age 90, long time resident of Bothell, died peacefully at home, which was her wish, on Saturday, April 16, 2016. She was born on October 8, 1925, in Everett, WA. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Custer) Beebe. Ruth married Eldon Bob Downey on February 23, 1946, in Los Angeles, CA. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2000. She loved shopping and her animals; especially her dogs and cats and was a supporter of various animal charities. She was also well known in her neighborhood as a community activist and protector of property rights.
Ruth is survived by her son, Brett Downey and wife Rogelia; two daughters, Marcella Wilson and husband Ralph and Suzanne Lambalot and husband Dennis; three grandchildren, Evan, Brett and Terri and two great-grandchildren, Amelia and Weston.
