Bruce's journey through life was marked by achievements, service, and a rich collection of experiences. Educated at Broadway High School and the University of Washington, where he earned his undergraduate degree and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, before achieving his Doctorate in Dentistry from the University of Washington.
Post-graduation, he was Lieutenant in the United States Navy as a Dental Officer, aboard the USS Hancock stationed at Naval Base Coronado. Following his honorable service in the Navy, Bruce dedicated four decades to practicing Dentistry, leaving a memorable mark in the Medical Dental Building in Seattle. His commitment to his profession reflected not only his skill but also his genuine care for the wellbeing of his patients.
Bruce's commitment to the community extended beyond his profession, as evidenced by his involvement in various clubs and organizations. A charter member of Mercer Island Country Club, Mercer Island Rotary, the WAC, 101 Club, Seattle Tennis Club, Club 29, he also served on the UW Alumni Association Board of Trustees and Tyee. A loyal supporter of Husky football, Bruce rarely missed a game. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman, loved upland bird hunting, fishing, tennis and a passion for crabbing, gathering oysters and clams at their Hood Canal home.
Bruce led a robust and balanced life filled with family, friends, travel, and hobbies. Settling on Mercer Island for an enduring 60 years, Bruce and Karin joyfully nurtured a family of four sons. The couple moved to Pacific Regence in Bellevue for the past five years.
Survived by wife Karin of 65 years, sons, Mark, Rob (Cherise), Lance, Todd, and grandchildren, Ellette (Thomas), Jenay, Jake, and Katie (Becky). Predeceased by his twin sister Janet Reusser and brother Frank.
A private family service will be held at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church, in lieu of flowers, consider
