Robert George Gates

Born 7th of February 1927 in Saranac Lake, NY to George R and Audrey (Perry) Gates. He died the 8th of December 2015 in Seattle, Wa. He married Barbara E. Wade in 1946 in Seattle. He joined the USMCR in 1945 and again in 1950 when he served in the Korean War. He helped organize the NW Chapter of the Chosin Few, survivors of the Chosin Reservoir Battle. He was the father of Barbara (Bovee) Wright, deceased, Linda (Lampton) Pietrucha, Robert G. Gates Jr and Luanne (Atwood) Falkenberg. There are 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. Funeral service will be at Acacia Memorial Park on Tuesday, Dec 15, 2015 at 1pm.
